The Rule of Four
I was, frankly, disappointed in this book, although I'm glad I read it. It was interesting and entertaining and creative and all that. It just fell short in terms of suspense. It was more interesting perhaps as a "coming of age" novel, although it lacked some depth in that area as well. It was a good read. Just not a great read. Perhaps I'd read too may good reviews of it and had my expectations set unnaturally high. Four young men are at an Ivy League school completing their final studies and mapping out their futures. Two of them are focused on an unraveling the mysteries encoded in an ancient manuscript, promising the location of ancient crypt of treasures. There's a flavor reminiscent of the movie "National Treasure," although the specifics differ.
